Brothers Assistance Relief Fund (BARF) Under Construction

A PROGRAM TO PROVIDE IMMEDIATE FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO BROTHERS IN NEED

On October 16, 2010, during the reunion business meeting at 367 North Pleasant Street, the Phi Sigma Delta Alumni Association voted to create this FUND to provide emergency financial assistance for any Brother in need, in a response to the tragic loss of Larry and Margaret Hirsch. Our purpose is to provide a helping hand to avert a critical situation. We would also provide an opportunity for the Brothers' knowledge base, "Brothers Helping Brothers", to help resolve the particular problem. Our hope is that the support and advice contribute to a long-term solution.

There is a tab where you can read the charter that created the FUND. All members of Phi Sigma Delta are founders, even without your signature. The original documents will be at every reunion and a signature page will be provided so anyone can sign upon request.

A five member B.A.R.F. committee was formed in 2011 and elects its chairman.  Committee members serve 5-year terms and rotate out, one per year, ensuring continuity. The FUND is supported by the voluntary donations of the Brothers. The FUND has already provided assistance to Brothers in need and, if necessary, we will request additional contributions from our group. You can send any amount at any time to Alumni Association Treasurer, Stan K.  Notate that it is for the Relief Fund. We have already received many generous contributions. The Fund currently has a balance in excess of $10,000 and we send a huge thank you to those that have already contributed. The level of commitment and loyalty within our Brotherhood is amazing. We are a very special Band of Brothers.

If you are aware of a Brother in need, or, a situation that may require our action, please contact one of our committee members to initiate a confidential response. The current Committee members and their contact information for 2025 are:
